Hi, My son Tyler is a 3rd grader at Douglas Elementary and his class has been assigned to complete a community service project. Helping out with one of the fish fries was the first thing that came to his teacher’s mind when I approached his Faith formation teacher, Donnie Brew, about community service opportunities that might be available within the church community and appropriate for an 8 year old.  Tyler seemed intrigued so I decided to reach out to you.

 

His assignment includes a minimum 30 minute requirement and then he has to reflect on the details of what he did and how it made him feel. I explained to him how several of his family members, including his great grandfather who passed just prior to Tyler being born, used to be members of the Knights in NY. I thought it might be interesting for him to be of service to your organization and maybe learn from some of the knights what your organization is all about. This project needs to be completed during the month of March so please let me know if you think there would be something appropriate that Tyler could do to be of assistance.
