Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM
Council Officers role call
Reading of the Minutes. Motion to accept the
business meeting minutes was put forward. The
motion past by the membership.
There were no new candidates this month.

Grand Knight’s Report:
The first order of business was to elect delegates and
alternates to attend the K of C State Convention in
Asheville May 2-4. Nominations were opened and
the Grand Knight, Bill olf and Bernie Brown
deputy Grand Knight were nominated as delegates.
Their alternates were Joseph Smith and Gene Knight.  Nominations were seconded. A motion was made to
close the nominations.


June 2008 will be the 20th anniversary of our council.
It was suggested that we arrange a mass in honor of
the event with knights serving as lectors. The date of
Saturday June 21 at 5:30 pm was suggested, but Bill
olf will coordinate a date with the church staff. It
was suggested that Msgr. Lewis be contacted and all
charter members be invited.
 

Jim Lueck will contact the Little German Band and
set the contract date with St. Raphael’s and reserve
the Hall for the Oktoberfest 2008. New Ideas are
needed to help control the crowd, new improved
ideas are welcome.
 

St. Raphael’s Fair is scheduled for September 2008.

Treasurer’s Report:
All RSVP monies, $1,000 have been distributed and
$500 from last year has been distributed.

Financial Secretary’s Report:
None.

Trustee’s Report:
None.

Service Programs:
Capital Towers was held and the following were in
attendance: Bill Hast, John Gunther, Joe Halloran,
Robin Jewitt and Jim Muldowney


CANCELED: The St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
The Senior Prom will be advertised in the church
bulletin. e need about 8 Knights to assist with
serving the food and drinks. Also plenty of help to
break down the hall after the event. Contact Ernie
Beauregard (845-0771) if you would like to help with
the event.


Council Roadside Clean-up. The section of Lynn
Road will be scheduled for clean-up this April.
Information about the event will be published on the
Council website and announced at the meetings.

The next pancake breakfast will be May 18 from
7: 0-11:00. Contact Tom Smith for information.

Old Business:
Tom Smith is looking for bowlers to go to the K of C
Bowling tournament in Norfolk, VA on April 18, 19
and 20. He is looking to put together a 5-man team.

Mark Parrish reported about the planned Mother’s
Day flower sale. Monies will be used for a donation
to Project Gabriel. Mark is planning to buy single
roses for sale at the masses on the weekend of May
10th. Please contact Mark to volunteer to help with
this project.
 

State Raffle tickets are now available. They will be
available for 60 days. Prizes are trips and cash. For
every ticket sold by the Council, one half stays with
the Council. Tickets are $5.00 each. Tom Smith has
contacted the St. Raphael’s Youth Group and made
an agreement that for every ticket they sell, they can
have $1.00 for their events.
 

RSVP – The council received three letters from the
giving us thanks for our donations. The letters are
included in this months Knightlife.

New Business:
The State Convention for 2008 will be held May 2, ,
and 4 in Asheville.
 

A Red Cross blood drive has been scheduled for
Sunday, May 11th, from 11am to 4pm in Raphael
Hall. Please contact Frank Castillo to give blood or
to be a volunteer to help with administration.

Fourt Degree Report:
Gilbert reminded everyone that a parade was to be
held on Saturday March 15, downtown Raleigh, the
fourth degree would attend.

District Deputy Report:
None.

Good of t e rder:
Remember in your prayers:
Deacon Rodriguez’s son, who is in Iraq
Gilbert’s mother, who is having a second eye
surgery, and his sister who may have MS.
Bob Regan – will be going in for knee surgery and
his wife is recovering from back surgery.
Gene Brown – needs assistance to and from Sunday
mass, and to various Knights social events.
