Knights of Columbus St. Raphael’s Council 9880 Meeting Minutes Knights Minutes – April 2007 Remember to attend the monthly Knights meeting and give your support to the leaders as we are all in this together! If you can not attend the meeting, be sure to give your support to the various activities we have planned by contacting the chairperson ahead of time so he knows how many will be helping at that event. Remember the first value of the Knights is Charity – so step up and help your neighbor as well as yourself! Read minutes from the prior meeting and they were approved as read. Lenten Dinners - there are still a few unpaid bills - verifying what the cafeteria cleanup entailed since we paid $75 per week - positive feedback from parishioners and a dinner for the workers is planned Funding of Programs - Prolife Fund - $100 at the state convention - Bishop’s Fund - $100 at the state convention - Purchased a full page ad in the state convention program with a collage demonstrating the many and varied programs we are involved in. - RSVP for seminarians, DGK to contact Msgr. Clay - Will pay state dues but will get a refund of 2005 dues paid twice ` Membership Drive - Invite a friend, neighbor, or follow parishioner to join the Knights - Looking at end of April for campaign - May Pancake Breakfast will be recruiting as well Stations of the Cross - The Bishop lead the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday and the event was heavily attended. - The Knights provided a lot of support for this event and we will look at sponsoring it for next year. New Business St. Raphael’s Youth Group wants a donation for their summer trip. A motion was passed for a $250 donation on behalf of the Knights. Raffle tickets are still available from the Knights with the first prize being an Alaskan cruise for 2! Buy some today!! Blood Drive was spearheaded by Frank Castillo again and we raised 21 pints of blood. This is an impressive amount and we hope to build on this in the future with your help! Oktoberfest – we are in need of one or a few coordinators for this fun event! Many Knights have helped out and it has been a rousing success! If we get a few Knights to step up it will make light work! Don’t wait til the last minute – contact either Jim Lueck or Bill Wolf today! Don Stamenga has expressed interest in being the Lamb Director for 2008 as Bill Hast is stepping down after many years of service. We want to thank Bill for his efforts and know that all the Knights will give Don their support just like we did for Bill! Good of the Order Prayers for the Cody’s for continued good health.
