Knights of Columbus St. Raphael’s Council 9880 Meeting Minutes
Date February 13, 2007
-Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM -Council Officers role call -Reading of the Minutes. Motion to accept the business meeting minutes was put forward. The motion past by the membership.
Grand Knight’s Report: - None
Treasurer’s Report: -Due to the absence of the Treasurer, the Report was postpones until the next meeting.
Financial Secretary’s Report: - Due to the absence of the Financial Secretary, the Report was postpones until the next meeting.
Trustees’ Report: -None
Service Programs: -Lenten Fish Fries/Shrimp Boils will be held in Raphael Hall on each of the six Friday’s of Lent. A note will be put in the bulletin. Contact Mike Janus or Jim Lueck if you can volunteer to help. -The Free-Throw contest will be held on Saturday February 24th at Our Lady of Lourdes Gym. Contact Dom Stamegna if you can volunteer to help.
Old Business: -Road Clean-up will be held on Saturday February 17th. Please meet at the Remax parking lot at Lynn Road and Six Forks Road at 8:30am. -A pancake breakfast will be held on Sunday February 18th in the Lewis Room. The Social Action Committee will also be selling Free-Trade coffee and tea. Contact Tom Smith if you can help. -The Scout’s Blue and Gold Banquet is on Saturday February 17th. They are looking for Knights to help serve. Contact Jim Lueck for more information. -A Third Degree will be held in Fayetteville this weekend. -The council is still looking for a permanent Financial Secretary.
New Business: -The council’s First Degree Team is not yet certified. The team is looking for a Knight to join the team for the part of the Deputy Grand Knight. -The question asked as to when the next Second Degree would be held. -The 2007 State Raffle Tickets have been received. They are $5.00 each with $2.50 going to the council for each ticket sold. Jim Lueck plans to distribute 10 tickets to each member. A notice will be put in the bulletin. -Gilbert made a motion that the council should purchase a small electric broom-type sweeper for quick clean-ups after events and meetings. The motion was seconded and the motion was approved. Gilbert with the help of Terry Miner will choose the equipment. -Dave Demo made a motion that in honor of the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the Order (March 29, 2007) the council should purchase “In Solidarity with Our Priests”, #4362, certificates and present them to all of the priests in our parish at some future meeting. The certificates are $1.80 each from Supreme. The motion was seconded and approved.
Good of the Order: -In your prayers please remember: - John Harrod’s brother in his illness. - John Harrod’s mother in her travels. - Ed Cody - John Klotsko, who had by-pass surgery. - Sue Hoying in her illness. - Al Ruocchio, who died last week. - Gilbert Hendricks mother who will have eye surgery. - Nancy Miner, who will have disc surgery.
