Meeting Minutes November 14, 2006

- Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM - Council Officers role call - Reading of the Minutes. Motion to accept the business meeting minutes was put forward. Motion passed.
Grand Knight’s Report: - None
Treasurer’s Report: - $500 has been received from the Social Action Committee for the Free Trade Coffee Project. We need to receive about $200 more to breakeven for the program. - We now have an interest bearing checking account. - Checks were written for 20 - $50 prize winners in for the Scholarship Raffle. - We received a check for about $1500 from the Oktoberfest Event Committee. Joe Foley asked if the amount included reimbursement for the deposit for the Little German Band made by the Council. A report will be made at the next meeting.
Financial Secretary’s Report: - An in-depth report will be made at the next meeting by the new F. S., Joe Foley, who will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Clayton Rogers.
Trustees’ Report: - An election must be held for the replacement of the following officers due to the resignation of the Grand Knight, Brian Kasprowicz: Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and Chancellor.
Service Programs: - None
New Business: - Tom Smith, Past Grand Knight, asked for nominees for Grand Knight. Jim Lueck’s name was put forward and the nominations were closed. Jim Lueck was elected Grand Knight to fill the term of Brian Kasprowicz who moved out of state. - As new Grand Knight Jim Lueck asked for nominees for Deputy Grand Knight. Bill Wolf was nominated from the floor and nominations were closed. Bill Wolf was elected Deputy Grand Knight to fill the term of Jim Lueck. - Jim Lueck asked for nominees for Chancellor. Dom Stamegna was nominated and nominations were closed. Dom Stamegna was elected Chancellor to fill the term of Bill Wolf. - Food for the food baskets will be purchased on Saturday November 18th at Aldi’s. Volunteers will meet at Aldi’s at 9:00 am. Joe Foley asked that Diane Link be added to the Food Basket List. - The food baskets will be assembled on Sunday November 19th in Raphael Hall. Volunteers will meet at 9:00 am. Basket can be picked up after 12:00 noon. - Dave Demo reported that 28 “Enjoy the City” discount coupon books were sold for a profit of $168. The books will be on sale until Monday November 20th when the excess books have to be returned. - Dave Demo reported that a Third Degree Exemplification was held at St. Raphael’s on November 4th. 43 candidates made their 3rd Degree. The Degree was held in honor of Bishop Michael Burbidge, since his now a knight. All candidates signed a certificate for him. We had the certificate framed and it will be presented to the Bishop at an appropriate time. - Terry Miner stated that a Fourth Degree dinner would be held on Sunday November 19th at Father Price council. - Tom Smith announced that the K of C Bowling Tournament would be held in Wilmington Delaware this year. The dates are April, 14 & 15, 21 & 22, 28 & 29, and May 5 & 6. Call Tom for further information.
