-Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM
-Council Officers role call
-Reading of the Minutes. Motion to accept the
business meeting minutes was put forward. Motion passes.
-In attendance was Regional District Deputy
John Nussbaum.
Membership:
Treasurer’s Report:

As of 9/29 our balance in checking was $10,564.84

We now have an interest bearing checking account
-
No Octoberfest expenses have been submitted
-
Raffle ticket receipts have been $2,400

Unfinished Business:

A vote was held to approve the 2006-2007 budget as published in the
Kightlife. The budget was approved.

Weather permitting; volunteers are needed to complete the work at Madonna
House on Saturday October 13th. Contact Joe Foley.

Joe Foley suggested that we follow-up on the donation that was promised as a
result of volunteers who worked at the Renaissance Fair last year.
-
Dave Demo mentioned that Enjoy the City Coupon books were available. 11
have been sold thus far.
New Business:
-
A 3rd Degree will be held at St. Raphael’s on Saturday, Nov 4th.
Volunteers are needed for cooking on Friday and registration and serving on
Saturday. Contact Tom Smith.

A Family Cookout for the Knights and their family will be held on Tuesday,
Oct 24th. RSVP to Mark Parrish. We need games for the kids and
some grills.

The Christmas Party will be held on
-
Saturday, Dec 9th in the Lewis Room.
-
Brian talked to Lou Pappalardo about a railing or ramp at the rear of
Raphael Hall. He would prefer to have a contractor do the work.

The selling of Christmas cards may not be feasible this year because we
cannot sell them in the atrium and there will be too few events in Nov and
Dec.
-
1st and 2nd Degrees will be held at St. Francis on
Saturday, Oct 21st.
-
Pancake Breakfast will be held in the Lewis Room on Sunday, Oct 15th.
-
We have been asked to manage the food at the International Welcoming Potluck
on Saturday, Oct 21st. Contact Tom Smith. We will have a
membership table.
-
A Blood Drive will be held on Sunday, Nov 12th. Contact Frank
Castillo.
-
Kudos to Mark Parrish for the great job he did on the Council website.
-
Tom Smith recommended the book “Parish Priest” about Fr. McGivney.
-
It is anticipated that the profits from Oktoberfest will be $100+. A $400
advance deposit was made by the council for the band.

Food Baskets will be distributed on Sunday, Nov 19th and Sunday,
Dec 17th.
-
Brian will be formally giving the $4000 scholarship check to the school at
the staff meeting on Wednesday, Oct.11.

Clayton Rogers has resigned the position of Financial Secretary. Bill Wolf
will complete the term.
-
Membership card will be distributed this week.
-
The council has donated cards for instructions for saying the rosary in
Spanish to the Diocese of Raleigh Hispanic Ministry.

We have been asked to service the kitchen for the Benefit for Life event in
Raphael Hall on Thursday, Nov 9th. Contact Brian Kasprowicz.
District Deputy:
-
4th Degree will be held in Greensboro on Oct 28th
-
Travel and Gavel will be at St. Raphael’s on Dec 12th and it will
move on to Our Lady of Lourdes on Jan 2nd.
-
All old 1st Degree books must be returned to Supreme.
-
Our 1st Degree team must be certified for the revised Degree
before any 1st Degree’s can be held, effective November 1st.
